Chartering 2026

Where we started:

Nearly seven years ago, Prairie launched as a satellite campus of First United Methodist Church (FUMC). Just months later, COVID changed everything, and with the support of FUMC leadership, Pastor Patty helped Prairie pivot from a video-venue model to a drive-in church—preaching from the back of a pickup truck while worshippers tuned in by FM radio. Through two freezing winters and a blazing summer, Prairie not only endured—it grew, becoming an upstart faith community with a strong identity of its own. Today, Prairie is a vibrant, financially self-sustaining congregation with steady growth, strong lay leadership, and a clear sense of mission in our context.

Where we’re going:

As Prairie has grown in maturity—and as our lay folks have expressed readiness for self-governance, we have begun the chartering process. For chartering FAQs, click here.

How you can join in:

We will hold a Consulting Charge Conference on May 10 at worship where we officially charter and you are invited! Then, we will celebrate on May 31 at worship, and would love for you to join us.
