LGBTQ+ inclusion
God loves you and so do we!

FUMC Prairie Campus welcomes the full participation of LGBTQ people in our life and ministry. We are an affirming church which means that we are a gay-friendly church.

We Believe that God Loves Us All – No Exceptions.

In the first century, Jesus of Nazareth inspired a new and life-changing movement: a community of people whose lives were centered on Jesus and committed to living God’s way of unconditional, sacrificial, and redemptive love. We believe in a loving, liberating, and life-giving God. We are committed to the vital work of inclusion, aspiring to exemplify God’s love for every human being. We are committed to the full welcome and inclusion of LGBTQ+ folks in our church.

If you’d like to be a part of the Prairie Campus LGBTQ Fellowship Group, please email Rev. Patty Walker at pattyw@fumc-cs.org and she will get you in touch with the group’s coordinator. This group gets together for monthly gatherings and helps plan our church’s annual participation in the Colorado Springs Pride Parade.

From Kindle Rouse-

If you are LGBTQ+ and looking for a spiritual home in Colorado Springs, I would highly encourage you to seek out this church. The community built there is absolutely warm and welcoming. They took us by the metaphorical hand the first time we showed up (almost an hour late because we had confused the time! haha) and never blinked an eye at my wife and I, who don't hide who we are. Their worship is genuine, their love is kind and inviting, and their potlucks aren't too bad either. ;) Seriously though, they do put a lot of emphasis on community and community works. Food drives, visits to local assisted living homes, small fairs in their parking lot, putting on plays, adapting services to keep people safe this past year - the list goes on. It's also great to have a woman-led church in the Springs. Her Christmas Eve sermon had me in tears - happy, hopeful ones. We are leaving Colorado, but this church will always hold a place in our hearts. Please go, if you are looking for joy.

All are loved & welcome here!” How many times have you heard that mantra, only to find out the love was conditional? At FUMC Prairie Campus, they really mean it. As a gay Christian, this church has been a place of healing where I can bring my entire self to a community of faith, without reserve. Come check it out. I think you’ll be glad you did.
