We’re so glad you’re thinking about coming

Visiting a church for the first time can be a daunting experience. We know it can be scary walking through those school doors to visit the Prairie Campus. We assure you, though, that the hard part is making up your mind to visit. Once you are here you will find a huge welcome, new friends, and inspiring worship. To make your time easier, we wanted to provide you with some information below to prepare for your first time.

10 a.m. Worship

Come to the Banning Lewis Preparatory Academy (see map below) for 10 am Sunday worship. Worship is in the gym.  We have a spacious area with the option of moving your chair to social-distance according to your comfort level.

THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT WORSHIP:

  • Communion – Our table is open to all. Seriously.

  • Mask wearing will be at your own discretion. 

  • Park in the main parking lot and enter thru the front door of the school.

  • Online worship is streamed at 12:30 pm on the website and Facebook.

Visitor Welcome Table

Newcomers are invited to visit the “Welcome Table” where we have a free gift for you and more information about the church.

We can’t wait to meet you! You may notice folks wearing nametags as well, you are welcome to one! Please email prairiecommunications@fumc-cs.org with your name and optional pronouns and it will be available by the welcome table soon.

Children at Prairie

Sunday School (preK-grade 5) As you enter the school, there is a place to sign-in your kids(s) for Sunday School. Child(ren) begin in the worship service and depart after the first song for Sunday School. At the end of the service, please pick up your children from Sunday School and sign them out.

Nursery (age 0-3) also begins with signing in your child(ren), who you will then walk to the nursery. All staff have been screened thru background checks and love babies.

Important: There are 2 schools in the Banning Lewis neighborhood, both on Vista Del Pico Blvd. We meet in the Banning Lewis Preparatory Academy, not the Banning Lewis Ranch Academy. Super confusing, we know, but just be sure to go to the address above and you’ll be golden.
